My improvising plays with the timbral range of the oboe and cor anglais.

Collaborative improvisation sits at the heart of my music, which is political in the humanist sense of the word.

I perform with the Free Range Orchestra in Canterbury and with Trio CZW, a  collaboration with violinist and composer Alistair Zaldua and flautist Paul Cheneour. You can hear us play my piece,  'Learning to Live...again....,' below. Click the button to find out more about our work.

Trio CZW  and percussionist Ansuman Biswas recorded and released 'Whereness,' conceived and curated by Paul, in October 2020.  Artist Annie Catford created videos to accompany tracks from these albums. You can watch and listen to two of these further down this page.

In 2022 I began performing with cellist Khabat Abas and asked Henry Dagg the create a new instrument for me which expands the tactile and interactive range of the cor anglais. The result is the gliss anglais which is almost complete. You can hear me play its prototype alongside Khabat and cellist Isidora Edwards by clicking the gliss anglais button.
